ConceptIn the film Everything Everywhere All at Once, my partner and I explored the boundless possibilities of imagination and style across countless universes. To achieve this, we integrated 2D illustration elements that foreshadow the characters, layering them over photographs and 3D visuals to represent the multiverse. Our goal was to convey a sense of dynamic movement and the exhilarating experience of traversing through different dimensions. This approach not only enhances the visual storytelling but also immerses the audience in the film's vibrant, ever-shifting realities.

Storyboard
For our storyboard, I illustrated what we thought represented a portal-like experience that draws viewers deeper into its depths, revealing various elements and facets of the film as they progress through the portal. This immersive approach allows the audience to explore and engage with different aspects of the story, each layer offering new insights and enhancing their overall connection to the film.

Live-Action Shoot
For the live-action shoot, my partner managed the photography of our installation. This was essential for creating a dynamic and engaging background that seamlessly integrates with our illustrated elements.

Installation
For the installation, my partner took charge in laser cutting out pieces of geometric shapes to create this tunnel/portal illusion.

Procreate Process
During the illustration process, I underwent multiple rounds of revisions and experimented with various styles for each illustration to ensure they perfectly aligned with the overall mood we aimed to achieve. I also developed multiple versions of each illustration to accommodate the integration with the 3D renderings in this project. This allowed the 2D illustrations to interact seamlessly with the 3D elements, ensuring that both aspects of the project worked harmoniously together. This approach allowed us to refine each illustration until it seamlessly complemented the project's aesthetic and effectively conveyed the desired emotional impact.

Illustration Developments
These represent significant progressions in the illustration development throughout the project.

3D Modeling Process
My partner took charge for the 3D modeling process in DaVinci, Houdini, Clarisse, and Nuke.
